Task : Problem Solving

PROBLEM SOLVING
A.    What is Problem
Problem is “a question, matter, situation, or person is perplexing or difficult” or “any question or matter involving doubt, uncertain difficulty.”
To put in simple terms, there is a problem when we feel uncertain, dissatisfied, or upset with things, persons, or circumstances because they are either not doing what we think they should be doing or not going the way that we want or expected.
B.     What is Solution
Solution is “the act, method, or process of solving problem” or “the act or procces of explaining, settling, or disposing of a difficulty, problem or doubt.” In the others word solutions are the means by which we rid ourselves of problems.
C.     METHOD FOR PERSONAL PROBLEM SOLVING
The structured five-step approach to problem solving that follows may not eliminate all of your problems or guarantee perfect solutions, but it does provide a basic, simple organized way of trying to deal with the things, persons, or circumstances that are disturbing you. You may in fact discover that you are already using at least some of the steps as part of your approach to problems.
Step 1 : Identifying the Problem
Before attempting to solve a problem, you have to make sure that you know what the problem is. This may seems obvious, but sometimes it’s difficult to uncover what exactly is gathering you. As part of this step, it’s important to realize that the problem is yours and not necessary everyone else’s.
Step 2 : Gathering Information and Determining if the Problem Can be Broken Down
After identifying the problem, defining it very specifically, and taking ownership of it, you need to gather as much information about it a possible. This could involve doing research and include discussions with various people who are knowledgeable about it, particularly those who have actually caused the problem or perhaps been involved in it in some other way. They can be very helpful in providing clarification.
Step 3 : Thinking About Possible Solutions and Weighing the Advantages and Disadvantages of Each
After you have identified the problem, defined it very specifically, taken ownership of it, gathered the facts, and determined if it can be broken down, you need to come up with a list of possible solutions.
Step 4 : Choosing a Possible Solutions
You should select the one with the greatest chance of succeeding. This is likely to be the solutions with advantages that outweigh the disadvantages.
Step 5 : Checking Back on the Problem and the Possible Solutions
You should checking back to the problem and the possible solutions to make it sure and clear.
